Different types
There are 3 main types of employment:
Full-time employment – This is the most common type of work. This is where you have a full time work and you work 40 hours a week
Part-time employment – This is useful if you are in education and you want a job to supplement your income. This is where you work less than 40 hours a week
Self-employed –
This is where you work for yourself (instead of being employed by someone else).

There are also 3 main types of contract:

Permanent – this type of contract is indefinite, and will only be terminated if you or your employer wish to (for example, you find a more preferred job, or your employer needs to make staff cuts).

Fixed-term – a fixed-term contract may be for a fixed period of time, for the duration of a particular task/project, or when a specific event does or doesn’t occur.

Temporary – a temporary contract is more likely to be used where an employee is required for a short period, but the exact period or end date is unknown. It may not have a fixed end date, but will allow for termination on notice.
